As issued in Les Maîtres de l'Affiche, Plate 156, in 1899, published by Imprimerie Chaix. On wove paper with the blind embossed stamp deigned by Jules Cheret, who was the director of the monthly subscription from 1896-1900. Other artists included in the publication were Toulouse -Lautrec, Alphonse Mucha, Pierre Bonnard, Theophile-Alexandre Steinlen and Eugene Grasset. This period know as the Belle Époque, was a great time for poster making in France. Advertising posters began to be regarded as works of art. Imprimerie Chaix was largely responsible for popularizing poster design.
